Mulberry SS13

SS13 for Mulberry consisted of a neutral color palette with minimal pastel colors such as mint green and apricot thrown in with simple chic tailoring. Overall was very sophisticated and chic, maintaining the brand’s high standards well. There were also some metallic pieces thrown in there.. now you can be sure what the SS13 trend will be so get there before everyone else does!

Mark Fast SS13

Mark Fast has gone for a revamped 80’s knitted theme with some metalics and fringes thrown in. The cuts are very 80’s inspired brought up to modern fashion through the use of soft pastel colors, with each piece completed perfectly with afro hair, chunky gold accessories, and ‘Salt N Pepa – Push it’ to open the show. There are 3 words that describe this SS13 collection perfectly… Old School Cool.

Burberry Prorsum SS13

This collection was… STUNNING!The models teared up the runway in metallics, which were absolutely breathtaking. It put an interesting spin on the delicate cuts and sturtures of the pieces and really pushed the entire collection above and beyond the rest. The SS13 collection was pure perfection from the metalic wedges to the plastic handbags. This is definitely my favourite collection of London fashion week thus far, but let see what else is in store!

Louise Gray SS13

Louise Gray’s SS13 collection was interesting and catered to many aspects that other designers don’t such as the striking combination of different textiles, colors and cuts. I have to say that I’m impressed with her enthusiasm for loud prints, so job well done.

Unique SS13

Emma Farrow outdid herself this time! The SS13 collection was a mixture of sheer paneling, assymetric cuts, graphic designs, and gentle tailoring. The gentle tailoring gives an element of femininity to the collection which is reinforced by the calm, neutral color palette. It’s evident by this collection that sheer paneling is going to be a major trend in SS13!

Vivienne Westwood Red Label SS13

This collection came with the message ‘Climate Revolution’ and featured pieces that were inspired by 50’s tailoring with a twist. Very kooky but it worked well with the stiff tailoring.

Marios Schwab SS13

As the lights dimmed, African tribal music began to play and I knew I was in for a treat. The SS13 collection consisted of delicately pleated leathers and embellished mesh dresses all following a tribal theme as outfits were paired with leather fringed sandals. Every last detail of the show was executed to perfection. The piece that drove me crazy was the last black mesh dress with green sequins.

Preen by Thornton Bregazzi SS13

This collection was influenced by ‘Buffalo 66’, starring 90’s IT girl Christina Ricci, and is all about the 90’s grunge look. There was a beautiful contrast between the florals used and the snakeskin to add that to the element of grunge but was kept contemporary through the use of sheer paneling. One thing to look out for will be the side slit skirts, I have a feeling that will catch on pretty soon! All in all a great collection for SS13.
